Express Entry

This is the application platform for managing selection of skilled immigrants who want to settle in Canada permanently. It is an online system used by the Canadian Immigration to rank and select applicants for Permanent residency based on pre-set criteria and factors. Such applicants would normally qualify under the 3 classes below:

• Federal Skilled Worker
• Canadian Experience Class
• Federal Skilled Trades Program

The system was introduced January 2015 and enters its sixth year in managing how skilled immigrants are selected and offered permanent residence to come to Canada. The system ranks and selects the candidates in the pool using a point-based system. Canadian Immigration aims to process Express Entry applications in 6 months from submission date; making Express Entry offer one of the fastest Permanent application processing times in Canada.
